John Bennett is a math teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area and a homeschooling father of four. An outspoken advocate of education reform, he has presented lectures and workshops throughout California. He uses logic puzzles and strategy games in the classroom (and at home) to supplement the traditional mathematics curriculum. John has authored three volumes of Pentagrid Puzzles. John created Pentagrid Puzzles in October 2009 while doodling at a restaurant. They are a cross between pentomino puzzles and the color-square game. Solving the puzzles requires both deductive logic and visual-spatial reasoning.

His current project, BrainGames, is a collection of logic puzzles, abstract strategy games, and other math activities designed to bring deeper analytic reasoning to the classroom.
